Cinematics are so inspiring and immersive – and this particular one has me jumping up and down with enthusiasm like a gnome on espresso. All the excitement for Mists has suddenly hit me and what can I really say except….GNOME MONK HERE I COME! 🙂
In the last couple days I had a bit of a scare while keeping up with how priests were shaping up in beta. I saw some incredibly depressing logs that showed that paladins and monks were outhealing priests by a factor of 2! Now, I’m no world first chaser but this kind of discrepancy had me worried as memories of Cataclysm’s launch came flooding back.
Thankfully, Ghostcrawler clarified the issue stating:
“It’s probably not possible to overcome that much of a difference. Fortunately, you don’t have to, because paladins and monks both had some egregious bugs that inflated their healing. We actually hotfixed those bugs but then a new build broke them again. Until you get a new build or we hotfix the issues again, you are probably better off comparing druid, priest and shaman healing. I apologize for any inconvenience.”
In the meantime, I went ahead and rolled a gnome monk on beta. They are just adorable, hilarious and awesome all rolled into one! And as the balance issues and class issues get ironed out until launch, I’m going to be zen just like her! 🙂
Recently, I haven’t had much to say. I haven’t been raiding ever since our raiding group retired and fact of the matter is, raiding is how I enjoy WoW. That coupled with the fact that Cataclysm hasn’t really been fantastic in my eyes led me to wonder if I would even be playing this game come Mists. With the recent press release however, I’ve come across loads of information that have me rethinking that part. Here are the things I’m stoked about in Mists…
Alright. I’m going to do things differently this time just because my head is swimming with thoughts and ideas. I’m looking forward to the new expansion, Mists of Pandaria, for a lot of reasons – all of which I will attempt to neatly sort out here. That said, my feelings on this expansion weren’t terribly obvious from the beginning. To be perfectly honest, my jaw dropped when I saw the trailer….in complete horror. Not that I didn’t think it’s a compelling story, because it really is – but the trailer I felt was quite terrible at bringing it across. What really sold me on this upcoming expansion is the designer’s overriding philosophy that’s driving it. It tells me that the designers are listening to players and learning from the past. After the cinematic for more details…
