My Mage Tower scrapbook – excluding my Disc priest of all things because I was apparently too much in shock at the difference in difficulty between the Disc challenge and the healing challenge to remember to screenshot the moment. Doh.

Resto Druid Mage Tower Complete!!
2 CommentsThe best things often happen unplanned. This morning, I logged on just for fun and decided to give the Mage Tower a go over my morning coffee.
I made it to the last stage which wasn’t too bad but at some point I realised, this was going to happen! We were alive…and we were killing him!! I will not lie – my hands started shaking a bit, but it was a good clean finish. All those attempts and practice paid off!!
Here’s a closer look at this beauty!
Despite the frustrations that came with this challenge, I’m happy I managed to get it completed. And it’s because of those frustrations that it feels like something well-earned. I never did have a Benediction equivalent for my druid (closest was the swift flight form quest line?) – and now it feels kinda close.
I tip my hat to Blizzard for making challenging solo content for us playing who still like the mountain climb but don’t raid Mythics or whatnot anymore. It was fun, it was hard and it was a great feeling when I finally reached the top of the mountain!
If you’re working on the Mage Tower challenge, fear not – don’t be discouraged by the sheer number of attempts. Mine took way more than 40 and that’s all I can say because I frankly lost count. I’ve updated my guide to include tips from my recent success as well as extra resources so check it out here!
Until then happy healing!
Mage Tower Notes: Resto Druid Style
3 CommentsSo I finally got interested in the Mage Tower in the last two months. I know I know…late to the party. But in my defence, I didn’t even know about it until then. When I heard the appearances were going away, the resto druid one was the only one I was super excited. (Yes I already got the Discipline one but I wasn’t even excited about it. The whole thing was very meh).
If you’ve been following my rants on twitter, then you know that I have yet to be successful this time around. But I did make progress and make it consistently to the last two phases! There’s hope.
Regardless, I decided to write down my notes and thoughts for next time’s attempts and will update when I do actually finish the challenge. 🙂 And yes, I am considering maining a druid for BfA – but that’s a different post.
Humour, Fun and a Gnome
1 CommentI know I haven’t really been writing much. But I think I am ready to. It took the last two years for life to feel like some kind of “normal” returned. And now that things feel normal, I feel like I can’t shut up about stuff again.
I feel like I’ve found my home with the gnomes of G4. It’s the first time I’ve felt like I was in a place where I belonged like nowhere else. With fellow awesome gnomes who have a great sense of humour and love for Gnomeregan. *high four*
My new normal is of course casual with a capital C. I will most probably write about a lot of lore, outfits, fashion, alts, outfits, transmog, did I mention outfits yet? There will some healing in there because I will at heart, always be a healer in heels. Maybe a healing guide here and there. But I’m quite sure my days of “serious” raiding are behind me – and I like this new life.
So here’s to writing about fun times in Warcraft (yes I’m still sticking around – having a guild who is family kinda does that to you!), posting about hilarious and laughing at life in true gnomish style! For Gnomeregan!
TL;DR: I’m baaaaaack!
The New Discipline Priest: 7.2.5
7 CommentsHaving been away for a while, my once familiar class and spec have put me squarely in the relearning phase. After reading Mend’s guide (fantastic by the way) and running Proving Grounds endlessly, here are my healing notes for what Discipline priests look like – in a short, visual, tl;dr type of version.
Putting on my Healing Heels Again
3 CommentsTrauma medic Lillen Lightspark reporting for duty!
Yes, you heard that right. I’m back in the field doing what I enjoy most – healing. It’s been a while since this blog has seen some proper healing notes. My raiding adventures now will not be anything close to hardcore. Infact, I will be casual with a capital C and happy about it. Furthermore, I am joining the fine gnomes of G4 in our shared quest of gnome powah, so I know my new raiding journeys are going to be nothing short of epic.
First Thoughts on Healing in Legion
Leave a commentWell. I didn’t think I’d be here for this but I am – and I am excited. I managed to dip my fingers into the cursory healing mechanics of priest and druid over the weekend and it felt very much like a walk down memory lane.
Priest Class Preview: First Impressions
6 CommentsIt’s worth noting on the outset that there’s a marked difference in Blizzard’s approach to classes in general. The Legion Class Preview Series return to the fantasy of the class and then proceed to mark out their changes and design philosophies with lore as their guide map.
It is a wonderful change from the last few years and I for one, am glad that they are returning to the core of what makes us want to play our classes. It isn’t just numbers, rotations and flavour of the month – it’s the story, character and fantasy that draws us to it.
With that in mind, I dove in to look at what they had in store for us healing priests….and so far, I like what I see!
Healing Perspectives: Thok
2 CommentsThis is the one fight where the big baddie we fight actually seems both to me – big and bad. If there was one fight I saved my all caps “OH MAH GAWD” moments for, this would be it. Just saying – having a ridiculously huge dinosaur come charging at you is a legit… and I mean legit reason to panic.
Not that I panicked. Not once. Nope. Ok… maybe twice. No, really.
OK FINE HE ATE ME THREE TIMES ALREADY! *ahem*
Healing Perspectives: General Nazgrim
1 CommentGeneral Nazgrim is another of those familiar figures appearing in Siege of Orgrimmar. He was a cool quest-giver and a loyal orc in my book so he gets praises for that. And he is probably the only “honourable” boss in this raid instance. His decision to stick to Garrosh was disappointing but his choice lessens my reluctance to kill him. It was a choice and he chose to follow a tyrant – now he reaps what he sows.
