Zul’Gurub Vistas

I never really began to appreciate being able to fly in Azeroth until I accidentally flew over Zul’Gurub the other day. I have fond memories of running this before the Shattering in the hope of nabbing the Zulian Tiger mount, but never realise how different the landscape looks from the air.

The explosion of colour with lush greenery, troll architecture and beautiful waterfalls are very inspiring. And perhaps with all the destruction around lately, it’s nice to see a corner of Azerothian beauty.

Healing Perspectives: Heroic Morchok

The other night I had my very first foray into heroic modes. Ever. Normal mode Dragon Soul has got increasingly boring over the last couple months and at many points I felt distinctly too powerful while downing the bosses. Heroic modes have changed all that and although I’m entering these rather late in the expansion, they provide me with a fun challenge that has me pushing healing to my limit. And here’s the very first of them – Morchok!

Rest and Relaxation in Azeroth

My schedule has mostly settled into a nice predictable routine with the onset of summer. I raid on the weekends, and I get zombified during the week. The zombification is mostly happening because piano has now kicked into high gear for the last couple months and after memorising new pieces, practicing and rehearsing the performance pieces, I mostly look and feel like a zombie at the end of the day.

But that doesn’t stop me from playing WoW – oh no! It has however, led me to write off raiding on my alts and discover how rest and relaxation works in Azeroth. Here are a few of my favourite activities to do on weeknights to kick up my feet, unwind…and basically not use my brain as much as I can.

Healing Perspectives: Crash Course on Dragon Soul

So I’ve been on the hunt for a good guild and a good group of people to raid with. I have a trial run on Friday with what seems to me to be a fantastic group of folks whose raid philosophy I really agree with. However, it’s been ages since I’ve healed a normal raid before…nevermind as a super short gnome.

I’ve done Dragon Soul on normal but it’s been a while and everything’s fuzzy. You know what they say – the best way to learn something is to explain it out to others. So this is my crash course/recap for anyone who is recently returning to game and is looking to heal normal mode Dragon Soul. Mind you this is very much a healer’s quick cheatsheet version of what to be aware of – for more indepth details on mechanics/strats feel free to hit up any of the links in the resources section. Time to take down some internet dragons! Rawr! Oh yeah….I’m also going to give these bosses some cool names/titles just to make things entertaining here.

Going Gnome!

I came to a decision recently. My priest is now an awesome gnome. “Gno Wai!” you may say…and I respond “Ah but yes! Gno regrets!” Ahem. Seriously though, I’ve made a return to my priest – my other main – and I’m giving her a fresh start with a new a race and a new server. Now, in all my four years or Warcraftery, this is the first time I’ve made any serious main a gnome. It partly has to do with the fact that there weren’t any gnome healers back then but it more has to do with their tiny stature, and the squished gear look on them.

It took me all these years to warm up to gnomes and when I finally looked underneath all the /punt jokes and the squished armour, I found an adorable, optimistic race . Here are my 5 reasons to go gnome!
